Our electric bill used to range from P1500 to P1800 each month. After some energy saving steps, our bills literally dropped some digits. For instance, our March bill for our unit here in Manila is P772. On the other hand, I only paid a total of P15 from our February to March consumption for our weekend house in Bulacan. Amazing isn't it? Try these following energy saving tips. They might also help you cut your electric bills.
1. Turn off the radio if the TV or computer is on.
2. Use natural light by pushing the curtains to the sides during the day.
3. After dark, you may avoid turning on your lampshades by relying on the illuminating light coming from the outside.
4. Choose light bulbs with low wattage.
5. Use incandescent bulbs instead of compact fluorescent lamps.
6. Machine wash your clothes in full loads once a week.
7. Hang clothes to dry on sunny or windy days.
8. Iron clothes just once a week.
9. Press light materials like hankies after switching off the iron during the last minutes of ironing.
10. No need to iron all clothes. Some clothes require only a careful folding.
