Like I said in my previous blogs, the concept of my party was thanksgiving, shower, and diaper party rolled into one. I did most of the preparations 'cause as a new mom, I am very much excited about having a baby girl! Bebegim is, of course, full of excitement when it comes to our baby as well, but he isn't into partying like I do. And since he's too busy with work that day and he was preparing for his trip to Istanbul, I just had some family members worked with me.
My cousin and her boyfriend arrived in the morning to put up the balloons and the wall decor (which I purposely did for Askim's room). They also helped for the cake and the dessert. My aunt cooked most of the menu and we bought other stuff from the grocery and Goldilocks'.
Here is the cakestand I made with the cupcakes and mini cupcakes topped with cream cheese icing that I prepared.
The clock hit 3 o'clock and our unit was filled with my office mates. Some of my friends weren't able to make it because they were working that day.
We started with the games. There were three games and three guests participated in each game. The first game was 'Getting the Baby Dressed Contest'. Three girls were asked to have one baby doll dressed in the fastest way they can and the person who finished first was declared the winner. The second games was titled Suck it Baby! I came up with three small feeding bottles with fresh milk for girls to suck, and again, the participant who finished the milk first won the game. The last game is a Gimme My Diaper Mummee Contest. I gave each player a baby to cloth on, one diaper cloth, and two safety pins each. The participant who gave her baby doll a diaper first won the game. Each winner received a small token after the game.
After the games, the guests feasted on caldereta with rice, roasted chicken, spaghetti, shanghai rolls, pansit, hotdogs and mallows on stick, puto, gelatine, and chocolate cupcakes. Everybody had a chance to have a second trip to the table since the food was more than enough. We ended taking pictures, posing in front of the video cameras, and sharing hilarious stories.
