My baby is now exactly four months inside my womb. I don't feel anything unusual aside from the cramping sensation which is considered normal by my OB and having extra trips to the washroom. My doctor told me not to worry about it since it's due to the expansion of the uterus. She gave me a new prescription of vitamins and of course, I'm still drinking Anmum Materna.
There are around 4 pregnant women in our team these days. In the entire office? I don't know what's the number. It's a trend. That's what I know..^^
Every mommy is monitoring another mommy. You know, asking about how you feel, when is it coming out, what's on your diet, etc. Among the four of us, I think I am the happiest. I didn't have morning sickness. Yeah, I doubled all my meals during the first trimester, but now I'm back to normal. No more I-am-hungry-again attitude. I can still wear my favorite pair of jeans, go up and down the stairs easily, and walk briskly. Other mommies in the office complain about severe pains, contraction, nausea, and vomiting, but not me. I am grateful that my doctor's findings are normal and my lab tests are normal as well. I know my baby is healthy. Thanks God!
I've read about second trimester of pregnancy and I found out that by week 14, a baby could be 4 and a half inches long, head to toe, and it will weigh about 45 grams. He/she will be quite active by doing somersaults in the amniotic fluid. That movement will feel like a vibration to the mother by week 18 to 22.
This is the exciting part! My baby would be able to actually tune in to my conversations by week 22. Wow! I am very much anxious for my baby to arrive at this stage. I think I have to start downloading music and baby stories in MP3 files now. A baby could weigh nearly one pound and measure 10 and one-half inches head to toe on the same period. Another exciting thing is the fact that my baby's eyebrows and eyelashes will begin to grow at this stage, too. Yeah!
On a baby's 24th week, he/she will begin to have a rapid eye movement. He/she could weigh in at one pound, six ounces and measure 11 and one-fourth inches, head to toe. I'm telling you. This is really getting me more excited. It is hard to believe it, but between weeks 24 to 28, the baby will be at his/her most active stage according to the article that I've read. He/she will be more sensitive to the environment, will start to respond to touch, and will jump in reaction to a loud noise.
By the end of the second trimester which is week 28, the little angel will measure 13 inches head to toe and he/she will weigh two pounds and four ounces. My little one's eyelids will begin to open and he/she will spend so much time observing the womb.
Now I can't wait to find out if my little baby is a boy or a girl. My babe and I want to have a girl. We will give her one Turkish name and another name in Tagalog or Spanish. We are really hoping for a baby girl, so we are still keeping our fingers crossed.. ^^
