According to Mr. Webster, advertisement is the act or process of advertising. It is also a public notice; especially, one published in the press or broadcast over the air.
Advertising is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. In fact, there is a large demand and increase of ads and campaigns almost everywhere! We can see them everyday from buses and rapid transits to the striking billboards on the road. These ads never failed to catch the people's attention. The more attention they can get from potential customers, the more possibility for a bigger income to those who are behind them. Endorsements on TV, radio, magazines, and other printed materials are not enough.
What's next aside from mass-market advertising and Internet advertising? Have you seen a mobile billboard truck? That's one proof that it can be done in so many ways and not limited in papers or TV screens alone. There are newer advertising ideas and approaches coming and almost anything can serve as a medium. The truth is, they are invading us already. They are now taking away our beautiful parks, roads, and other public places. They can also be the channel of subliminal messages such as violence, sex, and prostitution. People spend billions of dollars every year for endorsers and agencies to help promote their products and services, but are they really necessary for economic growth? Is there anything that we can do to stop the overflowing advertisements these days? How about the wrong messages that they send to our children?
