The province of Romblon can be found at the center of the Philippine archipelago. It is located east of Mindoro, south of Marinduque, west of Masbate, and north of Panay Islands. It is a group of twenty islands lying in the Sibuyan Sea such as Banton, Carabao, Sibale, Sibuyan, Simara, Tablas, and Romblon. More than that, there are small islands such as Cresta del Gallo, Labrador, Logbon, and Alad.
Italy is not the only place where you can find marble products of high-quality. You can also find them in Romblon, the "Marble Country" of the Philippines. There are various souvenirs items from the island that tourists can bring home all carved from marble.
simple living
friendly people
People in Romblon earn a living through agriculture. Some of the Romblomanons left the islands and migrated to other countries already, but the thoughts of the beautiful island is always inviting them to be back.
I was born and raised in Tugdan in Tablas Island where the airport is situated.
Last Christmas, my boyfriend and I had a trip back home for 5 days. We took a small ship from pier 8 in Manila port to the town of Odiongan and then took a jeepney going to my hometown. The whole trip was a bit exhausting, but it was worth the wait. We didn't choose an airplane trip because my babe wanted to try a long ship ride for the first time. My babe was able to enjoy seeing the beautiful mountains and hills from the seashore, the industrious people who are helping each other to fish or dry fish under the heat of the sun, etc.
Well..um, me? Once again, I was able to enjoy the morning mist, the cool sea breeze, the lush of greens, colorful flowers, fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables, and many more. Long story. It was just awesome!
I said to myself, no matter where I went or how many years I've been gone, the trip to my hometown is still always unforgettable.. all ways.
