I am very excited to visit Baguio and check the famous Panagbenga Festival. My first time in Baguio was way back college in 2001. We took a 5-day trip to shoot a documentary as a project for our Mass Communication and Campus Journalism class. Our professor, who should be shooting with us, wasn't able to make it for some reason, so my classmates and I ended up exploring the place ourselves.
Anyway, a flower festival is something I've never been to. I am planning to go with my boyfriend and three other officemates this year. I wonder how is it going to be like. Look, I found the following schedule of events for the Baguio Flower Festival 2008.
FEBRUARY 1- GRAND OPENING, DRUM AND LYRE, STREET DANCING, and MARKET ENCOUNTER
FEBRUARY 22 to 24- ABANAO NIGHTS
FEBRUARY 23- GRAND OPENING PARADE
FEBRUARY 24- PARADE OF FLOATS AND BANDS
FEBRUARY 24 to MARCH 2- SESSION ROAD IN BLOOM
MARCH 2- CLOSING CEREMONIES, PLAYGROUND DEMONSTRATIONS and EXHIBITIONS
So, what are you waiting for? Get your accommodations now and pack up for Baguio. I am filing a leave tomorrow. See you there!
